Senior Director, Medical Affairs

Edwards Lifesciences seeks a Senior Director of Medical Affairs to lead the Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies business unit. The role involves directing medical affairs strategy, managing teams, and delivering clinical evidence to physicians through scientific communications and educational initiatives focused on cardiovascular disease treatment.
Responsibilities
- Direct medical affairs activities including scientific communications and medical information support for transcatheter tricuspid valve interventions
- Lead strategy development and implementation for clinical evidence delivery through peer-reviewed publications and physician presentations
- Oversee medical information provision to physicians and scientific development of product claims
- Develop talent and succession planning aligned with Medical Affairs growth strategy
- Analyze clinical data and present strategic recommendations to guide senior leadership decisions
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrated track record leading and managing teams
- Medical Affairs leadership experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry
- Deep knowledge of cardiovascular disease states and therapeutic approaches
- Strong understanding of clinical research, evidence interpretation, and biostatistics
- Exceptional scientific writing, communication, and presentation abilities
- Experience influencing cross-functional and senior stakeholders in matrix environments
Compensation: $209,000 - $296,000 base (California)
