Day Program Dsp
The day program DSP will assist the ISS supervisor/manager with individual care at the facility based on the policies, procedures, and quality of service required.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Directs personal assistance with daily living activities of individuals (grooming, eating, and personal hygiene)
- Reinforces counseling and therapy activities as directed by supervisor.
- Ensures the health and safety of all individuals by identifying and correcting safety hazards
- Provides assistance with medications and performs tasks delegated by a registered nurse
- Documents incidents involving individuals at the facility
- Provides daily reports to the supervisor that outline accomplishments and objectives met daily
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere conducive to the habilitation of the individuals served
- Responsible for cleanliness of facility including cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, sitting rooms and kitchen
- Maintains regular attendance and timeliness in duties
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and skills:
- Good communication skills?
- Knowledge of the HCS and MRLA programs?
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Minimum of 1 year with individuals with developmental disabilities
