Job Description

Seeking a skilled Pipe Welder/Pipefitter to add to our growing team in Grand Rapids. This individual will be responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling piping systems used in industrial refrigeration, process piping, and mechanical systems. This role requires precision welding skills, knowledge of piping layouts, and the ability to work safely in demanding industrial environments such as food processing plants, cold storage facilities, and manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipe welding using TIG and Stick welding techniques on carbon steels and stainless steel piping.
• Cut, shape, and join metal pipes using various welding and pipefitting techniques.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
• Adhere to safety protocols at all times.
• Ensure compliance with B31.5 or pressure pipe standards.
• Perform welding on boiler pipe, glycol, and water pipe types including steel, carbon, and aluminum.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of pipe welding experience.
• Proficient in pipe welding or pipefitting within an industrial setting.
• B31.5 Welding certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Experience in fitting and fabrication.
• Knowledge of stainless steel and carbon steel welding.

Work Environment

The position operates on a 1st shift schedule from 6am to 4:30pm in shop or in-town settings. Travel is required, with a cycle of 10 days on and 4 days off, involving travel to locations such as Arizona and Iowa in the coming years. The travel schedule is 7am to 5:30pm, and includes working in industrial settings with ammonia piping, potentially in food plants or cold storage facilities outside California. Collaboration is emphasized, with a current team of 5 welders aiming to expand to 10 total.

This is a Permanent position based out of Comstock Park, MI.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Comstock Park,MI.
