Clinical Lab Assistant- Stat Lab - Evening shift 2:30pm-11:00pm Includes weekdays, rotating weekends and some holidays

Position Summary

Join our Laboratory Services team as a Clinical Lab Assistant. In this role, you will support laboratory operations by performing specimen processing, clerical functions, inventory management, and quality-focused laboratory procedures. The Clinical Lab Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable laboratory testing that supports exceptional patient care. This position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while following established laboratory protocols and procedures.Key Responsibilities Perform specimen preparation, including centrifugation, aliquoting, volume measurement, labeling, storage, and packaging for in-house and reference laboratory testing. Assist laboratory technical staff with loading and unloading specimens from analyzers. Ensure accuracy and quality throughout specimen processing and testing workflows. Conduct complex clerical and processing functions while maintaining accurate laboratory records and reports. Manage department inventory, including monitoring stock levels, receiving supplies, and organizing storage. Collect, handle, and prepare biohazardous waste for proper disposal. Follow all laboratory safety protocols and quality assurance standards. Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and other healthcare team members. Demonstrate independent decision-making, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications Required

High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to understand and follow clinical protocols, specifications, and procedures. Successful completion of data entry and medical terminology assessments. Preferred

Associate degree in a health-related field. Minimum of two years of previous laboratory or related healthcare experience. Ideal Candidate
