Shift Details: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM, 3 shifts per week, 36 scheduled hours.
Job Order Details: Start Date 06/22/2026, End Date 09/21/2026, Duration 13 weeks.
Unit Information: L&D at Woman’s Hospital of Texas/HCA Healthcare, located on the 3rd floor of the Main Hospital, 7600 Fannin, Houston, Texas 77054.
Number of Beds: 35, Number of Staff: 160. Type of staff: Day Shift (2 charge nurses, 24 RNs, 5 Surgical Techs, 1 OR Aide, 1 Transport Tech, 1 Secretary, 1 scheduler) and Night Shift (2 charge nurses, 21 RNs, 4 Surgical Techs, 1 OR Aide, 1 Secretary).
Patient Ratios: 1:1/2:1 laboring, 2:1 APU, 2:1 PACU.
Type of equipment: Hill-Rom birthing beds, Alaris IV pump, GE core metrics FM, Panda warmer, CADD Solis epidural pumps, NOVI wireless FMEMR CPN (centricity), Meditech.
Typical procedures performed on unit(s): Vaginal Delivery, Cesarean Sections, PACU recovery. Antepartum care/testing, Continuous Electronic Fetal Monitoring.
Skill Set: Must have AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring, BLS, ACLS, NRP. Preferred: OR Circulation for Cesarean Sections, Placement of FSE and IUPC.
Dress Code: Scrub Color - Royal Blue.
Unit Guidelines/Policies: Pitocin and Cervical Ripening Policies/Protocols, Magnesium Sulfate, Hydralazine, Labetalol Protocols.
Awards/Recognition: Baby Friendly Designation.
Additional Information: 13 Bed Maternal Assessment Center for Triage of the Pregnant Patients, 24/7 Ancillary Services including: Anesthesia, Neonatal, Laborist, and Hospitalist.
