They are expanding their project-management team and looking for experienced utility professionals who want to take ownership of complex, highly visible infrastructure projects.This opportunity specifically requires hands-on electric utility Transmission, Distribution and/or Substation project experience. Candidates must have direct experience managing utility infrastructure projects through the construction/execution phase. General construction, commercial electrical, IT, telecom, facilities, or engineering/design experience without direct utility T&D/Substation project management will not meet the requirements of this position.What You'll DoYou'll take ownership of electric utility capital projects from preconstruction through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout, working directly with engineering teams, contractors, field personnel and utility stakeholders.Manage Transmission, Distribution and/or Substation capital projectsOwn project scope, schedule, budget, forecasting and cost controlsManage contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and vendorsCoordinate engineering, procurement, construction and utility operationsLead preconstruction, progress, contractor and client meetingsManage RFIs, submittals, change orders and contract administrationCoordinate outages, permitting, ROW and environmental requirements as applicableMonitor field construction for safety, quality, schedule and cost performanceManage project risks and drive solutions to schedule, cost and construction challengesCoordinate procurement and material/equipment requirementsSupport testing, commissioning, startup and energizationPrepare project status, cost, schedule and risk reportingManage turnover documentation, punch lists, warranties and final project closeoutManage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining strong client relationshipsWhat We're Looking For8+ years of relevant project/construction management experienceDirect electric utility T&D and/or Substation project-management experience is requiredMultiple years of experience supporting utility construction project sitesDemonstrated experience managing projects through the construction/execution phaseExperience with projects such as transmission line construction/rebuilds, distribution circuit/feeder upgrades, overhead/underground distribution, pole replacements, substations, transformer/equipment replacements, protection/relay upgrades or similar utility infrastructureExperience managing contractors and subcontractorsHands-on responsibility for budgets, forecasts, schedules and cost controlsExperience with RFIs, submittals, change orders and project closeoutStrong engineering/construction coordination experienceExcellent communication, organization and problem-solving skillsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred; significant directly applicable utility experience may be considered in lieu of degreePMP certification or willingness to obtain PMP within six monthsOSHA 10/30 strongly preferredPrimavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project experience preferredMust be comfortable working on-site in the assigned marketU.S. work authorization without sponsorship requiredCompensation & Key BenefitsBase Salary: $125,000–$175,000, depending on experience and depth of utility T&D/Substation expertise.The company also offers:Medical coverage with employer contributionDental and vision coverage401(k) with company matchPaid time off and paid holidaysPerformance/discretionary bonus potentialPotential overtime depending on project assignmentLong-term utility program stabilityStrong opportunities for continued professional and career growthWhy This Opportunity?This isn't a desk-only PM position.
