Positional Overview

The Imagine Group is recruiting for a Business Systems Analyst VI on behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Buffalo, New York , serving individuals, businesses, and communities across the eastern United States. Known for its strong regional presence, commitment to community engagement, and focus on long-term customer relationships, the organization offers a stable and collaborative work environment with opportunities for growth.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting a large-scale commercial lending platform modernization initiative involving integrations across numerous enterprise applications. This role partners with business, technology, engineering, testing, and product teams to define requirements, document integrations, coordinate testing, and support implementation.

Role & Responsibility:

Tasks That Will Lead to Your Success

• Own assigned application integration workstreams from requirements through approval, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support.
• Partner with business, technology, engineering, and application teams to define functional and integration requirements.
• Develop functional requirements documentation, specifications, test plans, process documentation, and supporting project artifacts.
• Analyze complex integrations, data fields, and system-to-system data movement.
• Facilitate requirements sessions, design discussions, project meetings, and workstream reviews.
• Review business requirements with technology teams to confirm understanding of scope and expected functionality.
• Support developers and engineering teams by clarifying documented requirements.
• Coordinate testing activities across multiple systems and application teams.
• Ensure testing processes, documentation, and required artifacts are completed consistently.
• Maintain organized repositories that support project governance, audit readiness, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in data mapping for integrations, conversions, reporting, and system enhancements.
• Identify and document dependencies, issues, risks, decisions, and scope changes.
• Coordinate with teams supporting payments, deposits, general ledger, regulatory reporting, and enterprise reporting systems.
• Support issue resolution during testing and implementation.
• Mentor less experienced analysts as needed.

• Senior-level business systems analysis experience supporting complex enterprise initiatives.
• Experience gathering, documenting, and managing functional and business requirements.
• Experience developing functional requirements documentation and supporting approval processes.
• Experience with complex system integrations involving multiple applications and data flows.
• Experience coordinating business units, technology teams, developers, application owners, and testing teams.
• Experience supporting test planning, coordination, execution, or documentation.
• Experience managing multiple workstreams, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables.
• Strong understanding of enterprise applications, workflows, data fields, and downstream impacts.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently within a large cross-functional project team.
• Combined minimum of 8 years of higher education and/or relevant experience in business analysis, systems analysis, data analysis, operational analysis, or systems development.

Education and Experience Preferred

• Commercial lending or commercial loan servicing experience.
• Experience within a large financial institution.
• AFS Vision, AFS Level III, or comparable lending platform experience.
• Experience with payments, deposits, general ledger, regulatory reporting, or reporting systems.
• Experience supporting major implementations, integrations, migrations, or modernization initiatives.
• Strong technical aptitude and comfort with data fields, interfaces, and integration logic.
• Proven mentoring or functional leadership experience.
