RN Med Surg | Altoona, Pennsylvania

Seeking a skilled registered nurse with experience in Medical-Surgical (RN-MS) nursing to provide expert patient care on a contract basis. This opportunity involves working within a dynamic clinical setting, delivering hands-on medical and surgical nursing to a diverse patient population.


Qualifications & Experience:

• Active RN license in Pennsylvania (or compact state eligibility)
• Proven background in medical-surgical nursing, preferably in hospital settings
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and tech documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and adapt to fast-paced environments
• Minimum of one year of recent RN-MS experience

Schedule/Hours:

• Schedule will align with facility requirements and may include weekends and holidays; flexibility is essential

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs
• Administer prescribed medications, IVs, and treatments safely and accurately
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Document care activities and patient responses thoroughly in electronic health records
• Support patients and families with education regarding recovery, procedures, and ongoing care needs
• Maintain strict adherence to clinical safety standards and infection control protocols
• Respond swiftly to changes in patient condition and participate in rapid response as needed
