Part Time Meat Clerk

Position Overview Part time position. Responsible for processing, packaging, and stocking meat products according to Meat Standards. Duties also include cleaning work areas, providing customer service, unloading stock, reloading salvage, and performing duties of a seafood clerk when assigned. Responsibilities

• Process and package meat products according to established standards.
• Stock and organize storage areas.
• Clean and maintain work areas and equipment.
• Provide customer service and assistance.
• Unload incoming stock and reload salvage.
• Perform seafood clerk duties as needed.

Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; or 1–3 months related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 18 years of age. Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to participate in training and teamwork to increase customer satisfaction and sales. Basic literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to read and comprehend instructions, perform simple calculations, and write basic correspondence in English. Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and to handle problems involving a few concrete variables. Completion of company training, including new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service, safety, food safety, and product knowledge. Physical Demands Regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle, reach, talk, hear, taste, and smell. Occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds as needed. Reach from 6 to 72 inches. Requires close vision, color vision, and depth perception. Work Environment Work in a cool environment (average 34–36°F) with frequent wet and humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold. Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
