Technical Trainer

Position Overview
The Production Technical Trainer plays a critical role in onboarding and developing production employees by delivering hands-on training in manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and quality standards. This position is responsible for monitoring employee progress, ensuring skill competency, and implementing targeted improvement plans when performance gaps are identified-ultimately supporting a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm OR 3pm-11pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct hands-on training for new hires and existing employees on production processes, work instructions, and equipment operation
• Ensure employees are properly trained on safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies
• Monitor and evaluate employee performance during and after training to ensure skill proficiency
• Track training progress and maintain accurate training records and documentation
• Assess employee competency through observation, testing, and performance metrics
• Identify skill gaps and performance deficiencies and develop targeted improvement plans
• Provide coaching, feedback, and retraining as needed to ensure employees meet expectations
• Collaborate with supervisors and managers to align training with production needs and goals
• Assist in developing, updating, and improving training materials, SOPs, and work instructions
• Support cross-training initiatives to increase workforce flexibility
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and quality

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Prior training, coaching, or mentoring experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and quality standards
• Ability to clearly communicate and demonstrate technical concepts to a diverse workforce
• Strong observation, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Proficient in basic computer systems (Microsoft Office, training databases, etc.)
