This position is for 12-hour night shifts, guaranteeing 36 hours per week. Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Job Description The Registered Nurse in the OB/GYN unit is responsible for caring for obstetrical patients and neonates. This role includes monitoring labor and delivery, providing postpartum care, and ensuring the well‑being of newborns in the nursery. The RN will collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare staff to deliver high‑quality patient care. Responsibilities Assess, treat, and care for obstetrical patients and neonates. Monitor and document labor progress, recognizing deviations from normal. Provide immediate response to signs of fetal distress and assist in resuscitation of newborns as needed. Administer medications and perform necessary tests on infants prior to discharge. Educate postpartum patients on care and recovery post‑delivery. Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures. Assist in maintaining unit cleanliness and organization of patient rooms. Participate in quality improvement activities and support departmental initiatives. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure 1-2 years of professional OB/GYN nursing experience. Current RN license issued by the Indiana State Board of Nursing. Certification in CPR and must obtain ACLS, NRP, and FHM within one year of employment.
