Licensed Veterinary Technician - Day Shift

Role Overview BluePearl Pet Hospital in Midtown, NY is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency + ICU departments. *This position is eligible for up to a $7,500 sign‑on bonus based on experience* Schedule & Pay Schedule: Thurs‑Sat, 7a‑7p Pay: $30.00 – $51.00 per hour + competitive shift differentials. This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience. We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4‑hour minimum. Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$4.50/hr. Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$4.50/hr. Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$8.00/hr. Shift Differential Responsibilities Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including proper positioning of patients. Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration. Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
