Seasonal Contract - Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Shift Details

Shift: Night Shift (19:00 - 07:00)

Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule: Rotating weekends; no call requirements

Unit Description

The Labor and Delivery unit is equipped to provide exceptional care with the following details:

Location: North Austin Medical Center, 4th Floor
Number of Beds: 32
Patient Ratios: 1:2
Number of Staff: 150

Staff Structure

Day Shift:

1 Charge Nurse
1 Co-Charge Nurse
Registered Nurses to accommodate 1:1 or 1:2 ratio

Night Shift:

1 Charge Nurse
1 Co-Charge Nurse
Registered Nurses to accommodate 1:1 or 1:2 ratio

Required Qualifications

Must have:

Experience in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
ACLS and BLS certifications
Newborn Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Competency in SVE and C-Section circulation
A minimum of 2 years nursing experience in Labor and Delivery

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred or additional skills include:

Competency in internal fetal monitor placement
Previous experience with HCA assignments or employment
Experience in a Level IV unit (high volume unit)

Typical Procedures

Spontaneous Vaginal Deliveries (SVD)
Cerclages
C-Sections
Trial of Labor After Cesarean (TOLAC)
