The School Custodian is responsible for upholding the safety and appearance of the physical school location in the Whitestone, NY. This is a part time position. The salary range for this position is $16.50-$20.00 an hour. We are looking for someone who can work from 2pm-7pm M-F. Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Building Maintenance Adhere to building/maintenance/codes to ensure health, safety & welfare of facilities, individual and employees Maintain cleanliness throughout facilities, completing assigned checklists that include daily, weekly, and monthly detail Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and use responsibly Demonstrate safety and care of equipment and supplies to protect from damage and theft Complete projects including moving furniture, deliveries, painting, plastering, etc. in an efficient and timely manner. Responsibilities include, but limited to, cleaning bathrooms/kitchen, mopping, sweeping, and/or vacuuming floors, Hygienic cleaning, and garbage collection and removal. Utilize troubleshooting skills to determine best way to fix problems and communicate delays or emergency reassignments to supervisor Respond promptly to program needs throughout facility Identify problems in the facility and inform supervisor as soon as they are discovered Work independently in the building, staying focused on assigned tasks and priorities Prioritize work to complete time sensitive issues first Report to work for snow removal as needed Maintain family and individual confidentiality Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management Qualifications & Work Experience High school diploma/GED preferred Must have 1-2 years’ general maintenance and facility cleaning skills Drivers license highly preferred Requires the ability to read, write and communicate effectively with others Attendance and punctuality is essential Collaboration and flexibility is expected Commitment to company values and adherence to policies This description is a general statement of required major duties and responsibilities performed on a regular and continuous basis.
