About the Facility The Oklahoma Forensic Center is the largest inpatient behavioral health facility within ODMHSAS and the state's only inpatient forensic hospital, serving all 77 counties.
- Location: Vinita, Oklahoma (approximately 60 miles northeast of Tulsa)
- Capacity: 268 beds
- Population Served: Individuals found incompetent for adjudication or adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity
- Mission: Deliver quality forensic evaluations and effective psychiatric treatment in a therapeutic environment that preserves public safety
- Lead and oversee forensic psychology programs across Oklahoma
- Conduct and supervise complex forensic evaluations
- Provide expert witness testimony in legal proceedings
- Train and mentor forensic examiners and psychology staff
- Collaborate with legal, medical, and administrative teams
- Develop policies, ensure compliance, and guide program strategy
- Manage budgeting, planning, and interagency coordination
- Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (APA-accredited)
- Completion of a 1-year pre-doctoral internship, including direct supervision from a licensed psychologist specializing in clinical or counseling psychology
- Minimum of 4 years of post-doctoral specialized training in the evaluation and/or treatment of forensic clients
- At least 2 years of licensure as a psychologist
- Demonstrated experience in forensic evaluations and expert testimony
- Successful completion of OSBI background check
- Pre-employment drug screen required
