Registered Nurse (RN) - OR General Surgery

Role Overview The registered nurse provides patient-centered care within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, following evidence-based practices and hospital policies. Under supervision, they develop and implement individualized care plans addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families. Responsibilities Include Utilizing the nursing process to meet patient needs Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, stressful environment Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to standards of practice Qualifications Graduate of a nursing school Minimum one year of experience or completion of Nurse Residency Program Current, unrestricted Connecticut RN license BLS certification Ability to obtain department-specific certifications Preferred Qualifications BSN or MSN Two or more years of clinical experience in the specialty area Specialty certifications (e.g., CNOR) Skills And Abilities Knowledge of nursing principles and practices Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle multiple priorities, work under stress, and be a team player Basic computer skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Commitment to customer service and maintaining confidentiality #J-18808-Ljbffr Black Women's Mental Health Institute
