At Taverna, hospitality is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for warm, personable hosts who create an exceptional first impression while helping ensure a seamless dining experience for every guest. As the first and last point of contact, our hosts work closely with managers and the service team to maintain an organized dining room, manage reservations, and provide genuine Italian hospitality.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests with a warm, friendly demeanor and escort them to their table.
• Present menus and provide an inviting first impression that reflects Taverna's hospitality standards.
• Manage the seating chart to ensure balanced server rotation and an efficient dining flow.
• Coordinate with managers regarding reservations, waitlists, VIP guests, and special requests.
• Utilize OpenTable to manage reservations, guest arrivals, and wait times accurately.
• Monitor the lobby, dining room, restrooms, and entrance to ensure cleanliness and a welcoming atmosphere.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including preparing the host stand and maintaining menus.
• Answer telephone inquiries professionally and assist guests with reservations and restaurant information.
• Support the front-of-house team with light housekeeping and other operational needs as needed.

Qualifications:

• Two or more years of host or front-of-house experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant preferred.
• Experience using OpenTable or a similar reservation platform.
• Friendly, outgoing personality with a genuine passion for hospitality.
• Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout scheduled shifts.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.
