Licensing Engineer

We are seeking a Licensing Engineer to support engineering activities for emerging opportunities in the civil nuclear sector at our Oak Ridge location, with a focus on advanced nuclear technologies and future nuclear new-build programs. Responsibilities Support development and execution of NRC licensing strategy and licensing basis. Prepare regulatory submissions, including topical reports, white papers, and supporting documentation. Coordinate and integrate technical inputs from engineering disciplines. Ensure traceability of licensing positions to design and analytical evidence. Support responses to NRC Requests for Additional Information (RAIs) and regulatory comments. Maintain licensing documentation, trackers, and compliance records. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders. Contribute to NRC engagement activities and integrated licensing schedule updates. Basic Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of experience in nuclear licensing, regulatory affairs, or a related technical field. Experience supporting regulatory submissions in a highly regulated industry. Strong technical writing and documentation skills. Ability to coordinate cross‑functional technical teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with NRC licensing processes and regulatory frameworks. Prior experience supporting nuclear reactor design certification or approval. Familiarity with Westinghouse processes or advanced reactor programs. Demonstrated experience responding to NRC RAIs. Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent professional experience, including significant NRC licensing experience, may be considered in lieu of a degree. Competencies Nuclear Licensing and Regulatory Compliance. Compensation 120,000–180,000 (US$) per annum. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
