Senior Engineer, New Product Introduction (Metrology)

Pacific Biosciences seeks a Senior Metrology Engineer to develop and sustain wafer metrology processes for sequencing consumables. The role involves hands-on technical support, statistical analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to improve yield and quality throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and sustain wafer metrology processes for R&D and high-volume manufacturing operations
• Provide hands-on technical and data support for metrology activities on production lines using in-house tools
• Design and execute statistical analyses including DOE, SPC, MSA, and GR&R studies to improve yield
• Collaborate with R&D, QA, manufacturing, and supply chain partners to meet production targets
• Generate technical documentation including protocols, work instructions, deviation reports, and ECOs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in physics, optics, materials science, or engineering discipline; or equivalent experience
• 4-8 years related experience in semiconductor wafer metrology and electro-optical laboratory environments
• Proficiency with JMP, MATLAB, SQL, and Python for data analysis
• Strong knowledge of NPI, CAPA, FMEA, Statistical Process Control, and lean manufacturing
• Ability to work in cleanroom environments and lift up to 40 lbs; valid US work authorization
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to thrive in dynamic settings

Compensation: $112,000-$168,000 base
