Job Description - SPD TECH II ENDOSCOPY PART TIME (2600008K) Available Shifts 10:00am- 3:00pm, Monday through Friday 10:00am-6:30pm, 3 days a week Job Summary The Sterile Processing Technician II - ENDO is a certified professional responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, disinfection, and safe handling of medical instruments, supplies, and equipment. This individual will apply their expertise to ensure efficient performance and compliance with operational standards, contributing to the overall success of the department. Success in this position requires a high level of technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while adhering to safety and quality standards. Experience and Education – Preferred Minimum of one year experience in endoscope reprocessing. Job Duties Proven understanding of departmental policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for High‑Level Disinfection (HLD) and safety protocols Performs Quality Assurance and Clean Verification as necessary and logs in record‑keeping locations Successfully performs High‑Level Disinfection (HLD) of all equipment and accessories according to department guidelines and Manufactures Instruction for Use (MFIU) Successfully completes and masters scope‑specific competency program Scans all items received in work areas according to workflows provided Receives and inventories departmental supplies, instrumentation and equipment Communicates all defects, delays in reprocessing, and concerns to leadership Security and EEO Statement This position is security‑sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
