We’re Looking For: Licensure or Certifications MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required. Degrees: GED or HS Equivalency Diploma. MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.  LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing What You’ll Do: Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-5pm hours depending on department needs As a Medical Assistant , you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day. As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will: Welcome patients and support their transition into care. Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings. Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures. Administer medications and vaccines as directed. Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing. Document care accurately in the electronic health record. Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care. About This Location: The urology clinic at 2801 W Kinnickinnic River Pkwy (Aurora Urology – Kinnickinnic) is a specialty urology clinic providing expert evaluation and treatment for conditions affecting the urinary tract and male reproductive system, including kidney stones, prostate issues, and bladder disorders, with access to advanced procedures and surgical care Specialty focus: Diagnosis and treatment of conditions involving the urinary tract and male reproductive system (kidneys, bladder, prostate, and urethra). Common conditions treated: Kidney stones, urinary tract infections (UTIs), enlarged prostate, prostatitis, bladder disorders, urinary incontinence, and erectile dysfunction. Procedural care: Offers in-clinic and surgical interventions such as prostate procedures, vasectomies, and vasectomy reversals. Subspecialty expertise: Includes providers with expertise in complex urologic conditions and kidney stone management. Integrated setting: Part of the Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center network, enabling coordination with hospital-based care and advanced treatment when needed Your feedback matters. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions. Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines. Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed. May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
