Duties Manages a Food Service Program within a business activity. Develops, recommends and enforces operating procedures. Plans and manages all phases of food service program where dining and catering are a substantial basis of the food operation. Prepares/supervises the preparation of menus involving both standard and new cooking methods. Represents the activity to the public. Conducts customer surveys, reviews usage/sales to make recommendations concerning services, promotion activities and revenue improvements. Develops operating budget and data, identifying labor, equipment, and supply costs. Participates in the selection of employees, directs on-the-job-training of new employees, makes duty assignments consistent with operational requirements. Controls food pricing and costs. Oversees food ordering, storage and issues. Directs subordinates in all phases of food preparation and food sanitation requirements. Supervises assigned staff. Performs other duties assigned. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. The ability to obtain (within first three months of employment) and maintain a Food Protection Manager Certification acquired through an American National Standards Institute accredited agency is required (i.e., ServSafe et.). Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, bend, walk for long periods of a time. Must possess and retain a valid driver's license. Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed. Knowledge of pricing methods and internal controls. Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in complexity and difficulty to the next lower pay level. Possess a certificate for sanitation in food service or have the ability to obtain the certificate within three months of appointment. This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
