Your Mission: To facilitate ASCS/Arthritis Foundation-approved exercise routines and assist residents in the strengthening and overall physical conditioning appropriate for their age group. Key Responsibilities Builds the fitness program in tandem with the Life Enrichment Director. Teaches fitness classes and coaches instructors as needed. Must think outside the box to create new and exciting programs both physical and intellectual. Create and implement, with appropriate residents, individualized personal training sessions that are designed around the resident's capabilities and their safety. Basic knowledge of senior wellness and the ability to motivate and encourage older adults. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with seniors. Ability to be a role model for successful aging and firm belief in the potential of the older adult. Strong initiative to make new and innovative ideas a reality while maintaining flexibility in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory direction. Participate in marketing the fitness/wellness program. Respond to resident concerns concerning the facility exercise rooms. Report to appropriate team members any resident concerns that cannot be handled independently. Monitor facility exercise rooms and exercise equipment for problems, safety concerns and bi-annual equipment maintenance schedule within the confines of the department budget. Obtain physician' authorization for resident participation in the fitness/ wellness programs. Obtain resident signature on liability release form prior to participation in any exercise session. Computer skills including word and spreadsheet application. Maintain an exercise database of all residents involved in one-on-one fitness programs. Conduct weekly exercise classes for all campus residents. Develop and promote fitness class schedule. Track resident attendance. Create, develop, and promote fitness/wellness programming and services, including department newsletters, activities, incentive programs, lecture series, clinics, and workshops. Your Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Must have valid CPR, AED ACE or AFAA certification. Group Exercise Certification a plus. Previous experience as a fitness coordinator or instructor Experience in adult/geriatric recreation preferred Possesses current, or can obtain, Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card-Required Employee Benefits Comprehensive health benefits (Medical, Dental & Vision). 401k with immediate vesting and up to 5% employer match.
