Job Title: Interior/Exterior Painter
Job Description
This role offers an opportunity for a skilled and detail-oriented Interior/Exterior Painter to contribute to high-quality finishing on buildings and mobile trailers. You will prepare a variety of surfaces and apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and durability.
Responsibilities

• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting by sanding, cleaning, and performing other necessary prep work, including work on new mobile trailers.
• Perform paint preparation tasks such as masking, taping, and priming to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality.
• Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, including Graco sprayers.
• Use latex paint and other coatings appropriately based on surface type and project requirements.
• Carry out residential, industrial, and exterior painting tasks with consistent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Mix paints and coatings to achieve the correct color, consistency, and coverage as specified for each project.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and correct any defects or imperfections as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your team.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to plan work, coordinate tasks, and complete projects on time and within budget.
• Maintain, clean, and properly store painting equipment and tools, including spray guns and related accessories.
• Identify and report any issues with surfaces, materials, or equipment that could affect project quality or safety.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in painting, including interior and exterior projects.
• Proficiency in paint preparation, including sanding, cleaning, and surface priming.
• Hands-on experience using Graco sprayers for applying paint and coatings.
• Strong familiarity with latex paint and its proper application on various surfaces.
• Ability to perform residential painting with a high level of detail and finish quality.
• Experience in industrial painting, including working with industrial paints and coatings.
• Skilled in using brushes, rollers, and spray guns to achieve consistent, professional results.
• Knowledge of safety practices and protocols related to painting and spray equipment.
• Ability to mix paints and finishes accurately to achieve desired colors and textures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with exterior painting on buildings, structures, and mobile units.
• Experience in auto body or similar spray application work is beneficial.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers.
• Capability to manage time efficiently to help ensure projects are completed on schedule.
• Comfort working in an industrial shop environment with varying temperatures.

Work Environment
The role is based in an indoor shop environment that is not temperature-controlled, so conditions may vary with the weather. You will work around industrial painting equipment, including spray guns and Graco sprayers, as well as brushes and rollers. Projects involve interior and exterior surfaces, including new mobile trailers, in a hands-on, production-oriented setting where safety practices and proper equipment handling are essential.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aumsville, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
