JOB SUMMARY

This role will be supporting our Vintage Design business unit based in Sacramento, CA. Since 1986, Vintage Design has been a premier interior finish design and installation subcontractor serving residential homebuilders throughout California. Vintage Design is part of Artisan Design Group (ADG), a leading national supply chain partner providing design, procurement, installation, and field services across flooring, cabinets, countertops, and other interior finish categories. The Field Operations Technician is responsible for day-to-day field execution within assigned communities, combining field management, quality control, builder communication, installation oversight, material coordination, and hands-on cabinet service and repair. This position serves as a primary field contact for builders and superintendents and is accountable for ensuring homes are ready, installations are completed on schedule and to company quality standards, deficiencies are identified quickly, and open items are driven through resolution.

COMPENSATION & HOURS

• $30.00 to $33.00 per hour. Full time, hourly non-exempt.
• Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 3:30pm with required rest and meal breaks. Overtime may be required during busier seasons.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•Perform daily site visits to assigned communities and serve as the primary field contact for builders, superintendents, subcontractors, and internal operations partners.

•Build and maintain dependable, professional relationships with builder personnel through timely, knowledgeable, and courteous communication by phone, text, email, and in person.

•Attend builder preconstruction, safety, scheduling, and other jobsite meetings as required.

•Monitor daily installation activity, subcontractor performance and material availability to help keep projects on schedule.

•Track building sequence by reporting lot tracking/phasing of all assigned communities.

•Validate homesite readiness by conducting pre-walks. This includes conducting cabinet field measures - verify drawings/dimensions, plumbing locations, appliance openings. Checking sub-floors and shower walls. Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions to ensure readiness prior to scheduled installation dates.

•Inspect flooring and/or cabinet installations within 48 hours of completion and verify workmanship, completeness, cleanliness, and conformance to company and builder quality expectations.

•Identify incomplete installations, quality concerns, material shortages, site-condition issues, and schedule risks; communicate them promptly and drive follow-up through completion.

•Perform cabinet quality-control and service work, including minor or partial installations, door and hinge adjustments or replacements, face-frame repairs, trim and molding work, touch-ups, and other field corrections within the scope of the role.

•Perform minor flooring-related repairs and touch-ups as needed, including partial tile or LVP replacement, grout, caulking, and similar corrective work.

•Conduct service inspections and repairs with builders, superintendents, homebuyers, manufacturers, and other project partners as required.

•Track jobsite inventory and materials, remove excess products or parts from homesites, and coordinate returns to the warehouse.

•Order or request replacement parts and short materials, provide complete documentation and photos, and coordinate with warehouse and office teams to ensure the material needed is available.

•Complete walk sheets, short-product/order forms, service documentation, and system notes accurately and consistently; provide photos and status updates to assigned office associates and operations partners.

•Perform occasional will-calls and material deliveries between warehouses, vendors, and job sites.

•Support subcontractor accountability by communicating installation deficiencies, excessive adjustments, incomplete work, or recurring quality issues to management for corrective action.

•Maintain safe jobsite practices and comply with builder, company, Cal/OSHA, and PPE requirements.

•Manage multiple communities, homes, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of responsiveness, organization, and follow-through.

•Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

· Minimum 2 years of experience in residential construction, flooring and/or cabinetry installation, field operations, service, quality control, or related trade.

· Cabinet installation, repair, adjustment, finish, staining, or service experience strongly preferred.

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Working knowledge of residential construction jobsite practices, installation sequencing, quality standards, and builder expectations.

· Ability to read and verify cabinet drawings, measurements, and field dimensions.

· Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

· Ability to manage multiple contractors, subcontractors, communities, and competing priorities while meeting tight deadlines.

· Proactive communication and strong follow-through are essential.

· Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with operations, scheduling, warehouse, purchasing, sales support, and management teams.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, and ability to learn company software and field systems.

· Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment drug test, criminal background check, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review. In addition, this position requires ongoing compliance with annual MVR reviews. Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance.

• Mobility : Frequently required to move throughout the office, warehouse, or job site to access materials, equipment, or files.

• Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lifts and/or moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Positioning: May be required to position oneself to inspect, maintain, or install materials, including stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

• Communication : Ability to effectively communicate and exchange accurate information with customers and team members, including in busy or noisy environments.

Work Requirements The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.

• Warehouse/Facility: May be exposed to non-climate-controlled environments (heat and cold), moving mechanical parts, vibration, and elevated noise levels.

• Job Site/Field: Exposure to active construction sites, outdoor weather conditions, dust, and fumes. Requires use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.

Travel: Requires travel from jobsite to jobsite in a company-issued vehicle.
