Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee all financial operations and strategic fiscal planning for our client's large-scale construction firm. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for driving financial efficiency, managing risk, and aligning our financial strategy with organizational growth goals. This role requires prior experience in construction or manufacturing accounting, with a strong grasp of Percentage of Completion accounting, Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, and GAAP compliance. Key Responsibilities Lead all aspects of the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management. Develop financial strategies to support corporate goals and long-term planning initiatives. Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. Manage and mentor the accounting and finance team to drive performance, collaboration, and best practices. Ensure proper accounting under Percentage of Completion methodology for ongoing construction projects. Lead Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedule reviews and provide detailed job cost analysis. Collaborate with project management, operations, and business development teams to evaluate project profitability and operational efficiency. Maintain banking relationships and oversee cash flow, investments, and capital management. Conduct internal audits and support external financial audits. Oversee compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements. Provide financial due diligence and analysis for strategic initiatives, joint ventures, and acquisitions. Travel intermittently to Florida to support regional offices and project teams. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s or CPA preferred). Minimum 10+ years of financial leadership experience, ideally as a Controller or CFO. Direct experience within the construction or manufacturing industries is required. Strong working knowledge of Percentage of Completion accounting and WIP reporting. Deep understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial regulations. Proven leadership in managing accounting teams and implementing financial controls. Experience with ERP systems and construction accounting platforms (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage, or similar). Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability and willingness to travel to Florida on a periodic basis.
