Elevator & Accessibility Lift Technician (CAT/CET) Location: Charlotte, North Carolina metropolitan area Employment Type: Full-time, hourly Typical Hiring Range: $30-$35 per hour, with additional flexibility based on certification, experience, and technical expertise About the Opportunity Due to continued growth, Liftavator is seeking an experienced Elevator and Accessibility Lift Technician to join our Charlotte-area team. This is an opportunity for an experienced technician or mechanic to work with accessibility and elevator equipment serving residential and commercial customers. We are particularly interested in CAT- or CET-certified professionals, but we will also consider accomplished non-certified mechanics with directly relevant elevator or accessibility-lift experience. The position is field-based and requires travel between customer and project sites throughout the Charlotte metropolitan area. Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modernize elevator and accessibility-lift equipment. Work with equipment such as vertical platform lifts, inclined platform lifts, stairlifts, LULA elevators, residential elevators, and related accessibility systems. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control-system issues. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical drawings, installation instructions, and manufacturer specifications. Complete installations and service work safely, accurately, and efficiently. Perform preventive maintenance and identify potential equipment or safety concerns. Test completed work to confirm proper operation and compliance with applicable requirements. Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, project leaders, and other technicians. Maintain accurate service, installation, and project documentation. Follow company safety procedures, applicable codes, and manufacturer requirements. Travel between job sites throughout the Charlotte metropolitan area as needed. Qualifications Professional experience installing, servicing, repairing, or modernizing elevators or accessibility-lift equipment. CAT- Certified Accessibility Technician—or CET- Certified Elevator Technician- credential strongly preferred. Experienced non-certified elevator and accessibility professionals are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation. Commitment to safe, code-compliant, high-quality work. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between local job sites. Ability to perform the physical duties associated with field installation and service work. Ability to obtain or maintain any credentials required for the assigned work. Preferred Experience Vertical or inclined platform lifts. Stairlifts and residential elevator systems. LULA or limited-use elevator equipment. Commercial or residential elevator installation and service. Accessibility-equipment inspection, maintenance, or modernization. Customer-facing field service.
