Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with students at both the high school and elementary levels in a school-based occupational therapy role near Stamford, CT. This position offers an ASAP start, allowing you to make a difference right away for students in need of your expertise. Enjoy a dynamic split schedule: 10 hours per week at the high school and 20 hours at the elementary setting, focused on makeup sessions to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Experience with school-aged children, ideally at both elementary and high school levels
- Ability to work independently—no COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) support in this assignment
- Familiarity with IEPs, documentation, and school-based therapy reporting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct OT services in accordance with student IEPs at both the high school and elementary settings
- Complete comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations as required
- Develop and implement treatment plans fitting for diverse developmental and educational needs
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of services and progress reports
- Communicate and consult with educators and caregivers to support student success and carryover strategies
- Adapt to varying caseload details as information is finalized
