If your answer is yes, we want you in Welcome, NC. We’re seeking a Principal Vehicle Aerodynamics Simulation Specialist to drive external aero development for our race cars using state-of-the-art CFD.

• Own CAD readiness and mesh generation strategies that deliver solver-friendly, high-quality models.
• Simulate vehicle aerodynamics across yaw, pitch, roll, and steer to reflect the full operating envelope.
• Extract insights from complex datasets and convert them into concise, prioritized engineering actions.
• Cross-check predictions with wind tunnel campaigns and on-track measurements to ensure correlation.
• Partner with OEMs, aero groups, design, and vehicle dynamics to implement performance-positive changes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field with a strong fluid dynamics foundation.
• 5+ years of hands-on CFD experience; motorsports background preferred.
• Expertise with ANSYS Fluent, Star-CCM+, or OpenFOAM and turbulence models such as DES, LES, and SST k-omega.
• Comfort running and managing large-scale studies on HPC clusters (job setup, submission, queuing).
• Solid command of vehicle aero principles and their effect on balance and drivability.
• Ability to deliver under the urgency of a weekly race schedule.

• Master’s degree focused on CFD or Experimental Aerodynamics.
• Experience in NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula 1, or other elite motorsport environments.
• Familiarity with NASCAR aerodynamic rules and limits.
• Understanding of how aero loads couple with mechanical grip and vehicle dynamics.
