Description Looking for an internship where you're not just observing, but actually contributing? At HALO, you’ll gain hands-on experience in fundraising, nonprofit strategy, and business development while helping ensure one more child spends one less day alone. What You’ll Do Fundraising & Grant Support Research and identify grant opportunities Assist in writing and preparing grant applications and reports Help track deadlines, requirements, and submissions Donor Engagement & Growth Support efforts to grow HALO’s recurring donor program (HALO Tribe) Assist with donor outreach, thank-you notes, and communications Support strategies to increase donor retention and engagement Data & Analytics Help clean and maintain donor data Pull reports (donor trends, giving history, lapsed donors, etc.) Assist in analyzing data to improve fundraising strategies Support donor segmentation and targeting efforts Marketing & Campaign Support Assist with campaigns like Change That Counts (fundraising campaign) and Bloom (traveling poetry display) Help track campaign performance and engagement Support content ideas and outreach strategies Help execute year-end and holiday fundraising campaigns Partnership Development & Research Research and identify new community and corporate partners Support outreach and relationship-building efforts Assist in growing the HALO Membership (personal and professional development courses) sponsorship program Identify company match opportunities and new revenue streams Events & Operations Assist with event follow-up and donor engagement Support administrative tasks like invoices and acknowledgments What You’ll Gain Real-world experience in fundraising, business development, and nonprofit operations Hands-on experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems and grant research tools Resume-building projects with measurable outcomes Mentorship from nonprofit leaders Ownership over meaningful, high-impact work A chance to directly support youth experiencing homelessness Qualifications Who You Are Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Strong communicator (written and verbal) Interested in nonprofit work, business, marketing, or fundraising Comfortable taking initiative and working independently Proficient in Google Suites and Microsoft Suites. CRM experience is a plus Internship Details Minimum 10 hours per week Based at HALO Headquarters in Kansas City Reports to the Operations Director This is an unpaid internship designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience and professional growth. #J-18808-Ljbffr The HALO Foundation
