Responsibilities The Medication Aide administers prescribed medications and treatments to residents who need assistance in accordance with state regulatory stipulations. The role includes observing residents taking medication, noting expected and unexpected effects, accurately documenting all required information in medication administration records, and communicating concerns or observations with the Wellness Director, Wellness Coordinator, or designated personnel. The Aide also supports residents with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, socialization, cognition, and physical health, encouraging independence, preserving dignity, and maintaining professional conduct. Critical Success Factors Successful completion of medication assistance training in compliance with state regulatory requirements and facility protocols. Maintaining up‑to‑date medication certification according to state regulations. Being compassionate and empathetic in personal interactions. Possessing effective oral and written communication skills. Being self‑supervising, self‑motivating, and willing to collaborate as a team member. Being adaptable, flexible, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple demands concurrently. Demonstrating strong problem‑solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Prior direct care experience preferred. High school diploma or GED. Current CPR certification preferred. Meets age requirements per facility policy and state regulations.
