Journeyman Electrician

This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems that support infrastructure in data centers throughout Northern Virginia. You will work on a wide range of control and distribution equipment, interpret technical documentation, and ensure safe, reliable operation of mission-critical electrical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, and related equipment.
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit to specified dimensions using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Install electrical fixtures and equipment such as AC and DC motors, control panels, PLCs, switches, and switchgear in accordance with project requirements.
  • Interpret and work from plans, sketches, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and specifications to complete installations and modifications accurately.
  • Determine the method and sequence of proposed installation of electrical fixtures and equipment to ensure efficient and safe completion of work.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions to restore systems to proper operation.
  • Perform conduit installation and conduit bending to support new and existing electrical systems.
  • Verify that completed installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with team members on large-scale projects, particularly in data centers and other mission-critical facilities.
  • Represent the company professionally at client sites by maintaining a high standard of workmanship, communication, and conduct.
Essential Skills
  • 5–10 years of experience working as an electrician.
  • 4–8 years of experience in the electrical field or a closely related area.
  • Journeyman electrician license or equivalent electrical training and experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrated experience working on 10,000–50,000 square foot projects.
  • Proficiency in installing and repairing control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Strong ability to measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit accurately.
  • Experience installing AC and DC motors, control panels, PLCs, switches, and switchgear.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, sketches, wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills to diagnose electrical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Experience with conduit installation and conduit bending.
  • Ability to determine the method and sequence of electrical installations to complete work efficiently and safely.
  • Strong sense of punctuality, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills to represent the company effectively to high-profile clients.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working in data centers or other mission-critical facilities (preferred).
  • Background supporting electrical infrastructure projects for large-scale commercial or industrial environments.
  • Comfort working on complex electrical systems that support high-profile clients and technology-driven operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodbridge, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $42.00/hr.
