About the Position

Job Title: Step Down RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 18 months in specialty within the past 3 years License: GA or compact license in hand Certifications: CCRN preferred Must-Have: - Experience with PA lines. - Ability to accommodate LVADs, 2-4 drips, arterial lines, and PA catheters. - Experience with presurgical patients. Description: This unit consists of a 12-bed, 24-hour observation area. Patients will include low acuity critical care individuals awaiting placement in higher acuity units. Ventilators, CRRT, Impellas will not be accepted in this unit. Patients may be monitored following same-day procedures before discharge. The unit will have a high volume of patient turnover with a variety of cardiovascular diagnoses. This environment will provide opportunities for learning about numerous cardiovascular procedures. It will enhance critical care skills and refine assessment capabilities. A rhythm identification test will be required once the position begins. Candidates will have two attempts to complete this test successfully.
