Machine Design Engineer

Job Roles and Responsibilities

Design industrial machinery and extrusion equipment using 3D modeling software.
Develop and modify designs for extrusion presses, billet loaders, handling systems, and related components.
Perform reverse engineering of existing machinery for repair and upgrades.
Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD tools.
Conduct FEA analysis for design validation and performance optimization.
Collaborate with manufacturing and field service teams for troubleshooting and repair support.
Assist in quoting and estimating engineering efforts for projects.
Coordinate installation and movement of heavy industrial equipment.
Support hydraulic system design and troubleshooting.
Work closely with production teams to ensure manufacturability and efficiency.
Serve as primary engineering point of contact for machine design projects.
Ensure proper integration of mechanical systems into manufacturing processes.
Provide technical support for industrial equipment performance and optimization.

Qualifications and Certifications

Minimum 10+ years of industrial machinery or machine design experience.
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and design.
Experience generating 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD tools.
Strong knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools and methods.
Experience working with industrial mechanical systems and equipment.
Working knowledge of hydraulic systems design and troubleshooting.
Understanding of industrial electrical systems and components.
Experience in machine design, fabrication, and manufacturing environments.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
Experience in aluminum extrusion industry preferred.
Experience designing extrusion presses, billet handling systems, and related machinery is highly preferred.
