Senior Associate or Counsel, Trust & Estate Litigation

About the Role

A growing legal practice group is seeking an experienced trust and estate litigator to take on a senior leadership role. You will lead complex matters, support client relationships, and help develop the team's practice and culture. What You'll Do

Lead complex trust, estate, probate, and fiduciary litigation matters from initial strategy through resolution.

Represent trustees, executors, administrators, beneficiaries, seniors, and their families in disputes, including financial elder abuse matters.

Build and maintain client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary contact on key matters.

Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the litigation practice.

Supervise, mentor, and guide associates through delegation, feedback, and hands-on training.

Help shape the direction and culture of the practice group.

What We're Looking For

At least 8 years of dedicated trust and estate litigation experience in California, with current hands-on litigation work.

Experience leading case strategy on complex trust, probate, or fiduciary matters, including will and trust contests, fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, surcharge actions, or elder abuse litigation.

Active membership in the State Bar of California in good standing and a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Experience supervising or mentoring junior attorneys and readiness to help lead and grow a practice group.

Strong client service skills and familiarity with the Bay Area trust and estate litigation community; an existing network is valued.

Collaborative, collegial approach to working with clients and colleagues.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. Location

Hybrid work arrangement, with the primary location in San Mateo, California. Pleasanton and San Jose offices are also available.
