Technical Writer

Salary: $66,560 - 83,200 per year Requirements:

• Excellent writing skills, including the ability to turn complex technical material into clear, accurate, user-friendly documents and task-oriented procedures, with illustrations as needed.
• Ability to create and maintain documentation as product designs evolve, with strong planning skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Visio, and Access Database.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work with engineering and manufacturing teams to gather information and verify documentation.
• A bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
• Four to five years of relevant technical documentation experience preferred.
• Experience with the AS9100D standard.
• Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 35 pounds and to stoop, reach, and handle items occasionally; hearing and vision, including depth perception and color vision, are required frequently.
• Ability to stay focused and results-oriented in a fast-paced environment and work under deadline pressure; a positive attitude, high energy, and professional demeanor are expected.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Because the role provides access to items protected under ITAR, the person hired must meet the ITAR definition of a U.S. person, and we must verify this status at hire.

• Prepare clear, concise, technically accurate documentation and manuals in accordance with applicable quality and design standards, ensuring customer-facing guides include current safety information.
• Create and revise user and maintenance manuals, assembly instructions, engineering specifications, and other documents that may require frequent updates.
• Work alongside technical teams responsible for systems and switch matrices to build working knowledge of the products and solutions being delivered.
• Develop diagrams, charts, schematics, and other visual aids to make documentation easier to understand.
• Create proposal and business-development materials, such as Visio diagrams, product data sheets, and conceptual guides that communicate our engineering expertise.
• Edit proposal documents to align with the standards and criteria applicable to DoD and commercial contract requirements.
• Write reports and record information about testing methods, laboratory equipment, and specifications for inclusion in user manuals.
• Use relevant manufacturing information from Integrated Statements of Work, Application Test Procedures, and specifications in user manuals; maintain system logs and manuals documenting equipment testing and operation for internal manufacturing teams.
