Village Super Market is seeking a results-driven Deli & Prepared Foods Merchandising Manager to lead merchandising strategy, category performance, and field execution for our Prepared Foods departments. About the Role: The Deli & Prepared Foods Merchandising Manager is responsible for developing and executing merchandising strategies that drive sales, profitability, and operational excellence across our Deli & Prepared Foods departments. This role partners closely with Marketing, Purchasing, Store Operations, Field Merchants, and vendor partners to optimize assortment, pricing, promotions, merchandising standards, and seasonal programs while ensuring consistent execution across all locations. This position plays a key role in delivering innovative prepared food offerings, enhancing the customer experience, and supporting the continued growth of one of our most important fresh food categories. What You’ll Do: Develop and execute merchandising strategies that drive sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction within Deli & Prepared Foods. Lead assortment planning, product selection, pricing strategies, and promotional execution across all stores. Analyze sales, gross profit, shrink, inventory, and customer trends to identify opportunities for category growth. Develop and maintain merchandising standards, planograms, displays, and signage that deliver a consistent customer experience. Partner with Marketing to develop seasonal promotions, advertisements, and merchandising programs. Collaborate with Purchasing and vendor partners to source products while maintaining quality, value, and product availability. Monitor food trends, competitive activity, and customer preferences to continually evolve the Prepared Foods assortment. Coach and develop Field Merchants while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Support inventory planning, forecasting, and shrink reduction initiatives that improve financial performance. Partner with store leadership to ensure merchandising standards, promotional execution, and operational consistency across all locations. What We’re Looking For: Experience in prepared foods merchandising, category management, fresh foods, deli, foodservice, or grocery retail leadership. Strong knowledge of prepared foods, meal solutions, fresh food merchandising, and customer buying trends. Proven success driving sales, gross profit, assortment optimization, and merchandising execution. Experience with inventory management, forecasting, pricing strategies, and promotional planning. Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and leadership skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across Merchandising, Marketing, Purchasing, Store Operations, and vendor partners. Food safety knowledge or certification preferred. Ideal Background: Experience in Prepared Foods, Deli, Fresh Foods Merchandising, Category Management, Foodservice, or Grocery Retail is highly valued. Experience leading multi-store merchandising initiatives and cross-functional projects is preferred. Ability to travel regularly between assigned store locations is required.
