Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Provides specialized nursing care to trauma and surgical patients in a multidisciplinary intermediate care unit. Oversees patient stabilization, monitoring, and treatment in a fast-paced, Level 1 Trauma Center environment.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to interventions.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and revise patient care plans.
  
  
• 
  Document patient care activities accurately within Cerner and other systems.
  
  
• 
  Perform IV starts, manage vents, telemetry, and conscious sedation procedures.
  
  
• 
  Floats within scope to meet departmental needs and accommodate schedule requests.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an active WV or Compact RN license, pending licenses accepted.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 2 years of RN experience, including 1 year in ICU/Trauma.
  
  
• 
  Certified in BLS, ACLS, and have recent PALS certification if required.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in IV insertion, telemetry, vents, and trauma care.
  
  
• 
  Be able to pass a fit test with an approved mask and complete it prior to start.
  
  
• 
  Show strong teamwork skills and adaptability to a high-acuity environment.
