Network Engineer

The Network Infrastructure Engineer II configures, installs, and manages various network devices and services, such as routers, switches, and wireless access points. Monitors the performance of facility networks to ensure network availability and reliability, and develops and updates network documentation and maps. Responsibilities Install, configure, and support network and wireless equipment. Update network equipment with approved firmware releases and arrange scheduled upgrades. Use testing and troubleshooting tools; trace fiber and CAT 6 cables across IDF closets and patch panels, and label and document cabling and hardware changes. Maintain a nationwide focus on overall network health, ensuring high availability and performance to meet business needs. Communicate technical information clearly with the client’s business units. Follow the client’s program management methodology and work collaboratively on project teams. Manage problem and request tickets for assigned technologies. Ensure availability of supported technology. Domestic U.S. travel required – 35‑40% travel. Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years of experience in networking. Strong understanding of LAN/MAN/WAN topologies, VLANs, switch trunking, virtual port channels (VPC), subnetting, OSPF, BGP, access lists, and NAC/802.1x. Knowledge of DNS/DHCP configurations (e.g., Bluecat DNS, Microsoft DHCP). Hands‑on experience with FortiNAC, Cisco Nexus (NX‑OS) switches, HP/Aruba ClearPass, HP/Aruba 2900/2600/5400 series switches, Cisco 9200/9300 switches, Zero Trust framework, Extreme wireless access points, and Azure/AWS support. CCNP certification strongly preferred. Solid reasoning, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
