Privacy, Technology and IP Attorney

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Privacy, Technology and IP Attorney to join a nationally recognised legal team. This position offers the chance to work on sophisticated intellectual property, technology, privacy, AI governance, and litigation matters within a collaborative environment that supports long-term career development. A flexible hybrid working arrangement is available for this role. Responsibilities: Manage a litigation caseload involving intellectual property, technology, data privacy, and AI governance matters. Advise clients on intellectual property, privacy, technology, and AI compliance issues. Work closely with partners and fellow attorneys on complex legal projects. Prosecute and defend litigation involving copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, trade libel, and privacy-related claims. Counsel clients on data privacy compliance, AI governance, and data governance, including privacy notices, policies, risk assessments, and internal training. Draft and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including licensing, software development, collaboration, and creative asset purchase agreements. Communicate regularly with clients and provide case updates and strategic advice. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Admission to practice law in the State of California. 5–15 years of intellectual property litigation experience. Federal and State court litigation experience with demonstrated motion practice. Experience taking and defending depositions. Experience with privacy, AI governance, data governance, or data privacy litigation is strongly preferred. Experience in advertising law, internet law, art law, fashion law, or commercial transactional matters is advantageous. Strong analytical, drafting, client service, and communication skills. Legal project management experience is beneficial. Demonstrated thought leadership in intellectual property is a plus. Competitive salary of $180,000–$210,000, depending on experience.
