CVICU Registered Nurse - Helotes, TX

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in pediatric cardiac care to deliver exceptional patient care in a dynamic CVICU setting during night shifts. The successful candidate will provide both routine and complex care, with a focus on pediatric patients requiring specialized interventions such as chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions. This full-time contract role operates on a 7PM - 7AM schedule.
Schedule/Hours:
- Night shifts: 7PM - 7AM
- Full-time contract position
- Active RN license in Texas or compact state
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only)
- Pediatric cardiac experience essential (chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, vasoactive infusions)
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- At least one year of critical care nursing experience preferred (new graduates will be considered following orientation requirements)
- Ability to complete facility-specific onboarding and annual competency verification
- Deliver high-quality nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned pediatric CVICU patients
- Address complex psychological, cultural, and emotional needs of patients and families
- Administer medications and treatments using established protocols; monitor effectiveness and manage side effects
- Document patient histories, symptoms, and care provided accurately in the medical record
- Assess educational needs and provide instruction to patients and their families or caregivers
- Make appropriate assignments and provide supervision and guidance to support staff as needed
