Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with the Pasco County Office of Emergency Management (OEM). In Pasco County we strive to provide excellent public services that meet the needs of our citizens and enhance the quality of life for our residents and visitors. Responsibilities Assist with the organization and implementation of daily Emergency Management activities. Provide office and field research, clerical and other assistance to the Emergency Management staff. Work in the field under Pasco OEM supervision; in the office and/or in the Emergency Operations Center during activations. Essential Job Functions Collaboration across disciplines such as Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Data Entry, Communications/Public Relations, Public Administration/Political Science, Business Administration, Geography/Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Studies, Geology, Health, Social Sciences, Psychology, Meteorology, Non-profit Management, Pre-Law, Professional and Technical Writing, Aging Studies, Computer Science, and Civil & Environmental Engineering. Qualifications Actively enrolled in a college or university. Available for an unpaid internship. Good communication, research, and clerical skills. Minimum Requirements Accepting all Volunteer applicants. Internship applicants must be actively enrolled in a college or university. Applicants that are not enrolled may be considered for a volunteer position with Pasco OEM. Application Materials Attach a resume, unofficial school transcript, and a Letter of Intent detailing why you should be selected to work at Pasco OEM and three educational and/or career goals you hope to meet during your volunteering/internship. Benefits Volunteers/Interns will be provided with actual working space, desk, computer, and software necessary to support your assigned tasks in the West Pasco Government Center, New Port Richey.
