Quality Inspector

Job Overview Leidos Platform Integration Facility is seeking a Quality Inspector with experience using Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) and portable arm technologies to ensure machined, fabricated, and assembled hardware meet specified drawing/CAD model requirements. The role involves using CMM/Portable Arm, hand measuring tools, and gauges, and working closely with engineers to understand requirements and interpret data. Responsibilities Verify machined, fabricated, and assembled hardware against drawings and CAD models Use CMM and portable arm systems, hand measuring tools, and gauges to conduct measurements Populate handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports Work independently in a fast‑paced environment while adjusting priorities based on workflow Support quality inspections at other sites as required Lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Analyze non‑conforming material, perform failure analysis, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions Communicate results effectively within a team environment Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent 3–5 years of CMM experience Proficiency reading and interpreting drawingsand GD&T principles Experience with micrometers, height gauges, gauge blocks, radius gauges, calipers, etc. Experience in an AS9100 Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment (plus) Computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word Experience with PC‑DMIS, SolidWorks Inspection, PolyWorks Metrology Suite, and Spatial Analyzer software (plus) Ability to work full‑time with minimal supervision Willingness to travel to support inspections Experience with non‑conforming material, failure analysis, root‑cause identification, and corrective action implementation Demonstrated effective communication skills within a team environment Experience with complex aerospace hardware Additional Qualifications Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville, Alabama Desired: precision measurement experience with complex aerospace hardware Security Requirements US Citizen required Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Final Secret Clearance or a Secret Clearance Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, race, ethnicity, age, national origin, citizenship, religion, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, family structure, marital status, ancestry, domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran or military status, or any other basis prohibited by law.
