Senior Principal Product Manager

Overview This role is based in the Innovation Accelerator (IA) team, the innovation engine and connective tissue for Design, Data and Data Science innovation strategy within Product Development Data Sciences (PDD). The Product Manager leads the development and scaling of digital and data‑driven solutions that enhance decision‑making across Roche’s R&D ecosystem. Responsibilities Lead the product development lifecycle from concept through launch and beyond. Define product vision, strategy, and success metrics in alignment with organizational goals. Own the product roadmap and backlog, prioritize features, and manage agile ceremonies. Translate user needs and business requirements into actionable product specifications. Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, designers, and stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle. Monitor and manage product KPIs, informing strategic course corrections. Foster user‑centered development through iterative research, prototyping, and validation. Navigate the Roche ecosystem to influence ownership and scaling of proven products. Identify and manage risks, interdependencies, and opportunities across a high‑impact portfolio. Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and quality standards. Support governance through strategic updates, reporting, and value‑based prioritization. Recommend and evolve product frameworks, contributing to the innovation culture. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field. 12 years of professional product management experience including multiple launches and strategic roadmaps, or 8 years of equivalent experience with an advanced degree. Expert in product management with deep domain expertise and broad understanding of digital and data‑driven innovation in life sciences. 6+ years of experience in at least two of the following domains: healthcare industry (ideally biotechnology), digital/SaaS products supporting analysis and decision‑making, scientific or quantitative users. Strong familiarity with agile methodologies, backlog management, and sprint execution. Demonstrated ability to influence senior‑level stakeholders and align product strategies with enterprise goals. Proven capacity to solve complex, ambiguous problems and make high‑impact decisions across cross‑functional settings. Passion for continuous learning and mentoring colleagues of all backgrounds. Excellent collaboration skills, interpersonal influence without authority, and relationship building with scientific and non‑scientific partners. Exceptional attention to detail, quality work, and ability to manage multiple short‑term and long‑term projects. Strong independent thinking and decision‑making based on sound principles. Strategic agility beyond technical domains, including problem‑solving and critical thinking. Respect for cultural differences in a global workplace. Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to explain complex concepts in clear language. Preferred Master’s or PhD in a related field. Statistical experience within AI/ML or data science applications in biomedical settings. Proven ability to manage complexity and risk in early‑phase or technically uncertain projects. Salary & Benefits Salary range: $155,400.00 – $288,600.00 USD annual (based on Massachusetts location). Discretionary annual bonus available based on individual and company performance.
