Job Summary:
The Dialysis Technician is responsible for providing specialized care to renal dialysis patients in a clinical setting, following established protocols under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role involves supporting patient treatment during dialysis sessions, ensuring equipment functionality, and maintaining patient safety. This position requires certification and prior dialysis experience, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in multiple clinic locations. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain dialysis equipment and supplies according to clinical protocols.
- Assist patients during dialysis treatments, monitoring their condition and reporting any concerns to nursing staff.
- Follow established procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout dialysis sessions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support patient care plans.
- Educate patients on dialysis procedures and home care as needed.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
- Current Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) or Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification.
- Current Washington State Medical Assistant-Hemodialysis Technician (MA-HT) certification or ability to obtain.
- Current CPR with BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous dialysis technician experience required.
- Strong knowledge of dialysis equipment and patient care protocols.
- Experience working in multiple dialysis clinic locations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to educate patients on dialysis care and procedures.
- Work involves chronic, in-center dialysis patient care.
- Must be able to work under supervision of Registered Nurses and comply with clinical protocols.
- Position requires adherence to infection control and safety regulations.
- Shifts typically range from 10 to 13 hours in length.
- Shift times can be AM or PM, with no shifts later than 11:30 PM.
- Workdays are Monday through Saturday, covering multiple clinic locations.
