Position Summary: The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and efficient exterior facility operations. This role involves managing seasonal maintenance activities, operating heavy machinery, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The technician supports cost control through effective resource management and coordinates with internal and external partners to uphold quality standards. By troubleshooting issues and providing technical assistance, this position contributes to sustaining facility functionality and safety while promoting continuous improvement and adherence to company policies and ethical standards. About the team: The General Facilities Maintenance team ensures Walmart's facilities operate efficiently and safely through preventive maintenance, equipment repair, and thorough inspections. They collaborate with internal and external partners to coordinate resources and budgets, delivering timely, high-quality service. Focused on clear communication, accountability, and continuous improvement, the team supports operational goals by addressing facility needs and maintaining equipment functionality. What You'll Do:

• Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety protocols and certification requirements.
• Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including snow and ice management to ensure safe facility conditions.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot facility issues to meet operational standards.
• Manage vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and documentation to ensure readiness and compliance.
• Coordinate purchases and control costs by sourcing parts, equipment, and supplies efficiently.
• Lead and develop third-party providers, fostering professional growth and performance evaluations.
• Implement upgrades and improvements to enhance facility sustainability and reduce operating costs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company policies while promoting a safe and ethical work environment.

What You'll Bring:

• Proven ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Experience managing facility exterior services, including seasonal maintenance such as snow and ice removal.
• Skilled in troubleshooting, quality assurance inspections, and resolving customer issues effectively.
• Competence in budgeting, cost control, and sourcing materials and equipment for repairs and upgrades.
• Ability to lead third-party providers and conduct performance evaluations to foster professional growth.
• Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and integrity in all work activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

21 years of age or older. Valid state-issued driver's license. No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years. No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle. No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle. No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle. Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire. As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language. 2 years' experience in the landscaping/gardening industry

Preferred Qualifications:

Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner's Certification (MEC) card, Associate's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area., Experience in third-party management., Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)., Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish., State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).
