Senior Site Reliability Engineer (GCP) – Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
Location: Atlanta, GA – Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
Contract: Long-term
We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to drive reliability, scalability, and performance across mission-critical systems. This is a senior-level role for engineers passionate about automation, observability, and operational excellence in distributed systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Reliability Engineering : Architect solutions to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance. Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Incident Management : Lead restoration efforts during major incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and champion blameless postmortems.
- Cloud Architecture : Design and optimize GCP infrastructure (VPC, Cloud DNS, load balancing, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery). Implement multi-zone/multi-region architectures and disaster recovery strategies.
- Automation & IaC : Build infrastructure with Terraform, automate workflows using Python/Bash/PowerShell, and enhance CI/CD pipelines.
- Observability & Tooling : Implement monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, and Google Cloud Operations Suite. Build dashboards, alerts, and automated remediation systems.
- Technical Leadership : Collaborate across teams, influence system design, and stay current with GCP capabilities.
Required Skills
- 7+ years in SRE, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering
- Strong expertise in GCP architecture, networking, IAM, and managed services
- Hands-on with Kubernetes (GKE) and Terraform
- Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Experience with observability stacks and orchestration platforms (e.g., Harness)
- Proven ability to solve complex reliability challenges in distributed systems
⭐ Preferred Skills
- Experience in regulated/high-availability environments (finance, healthcare)
- Familiarity with chaos engineering, performance optimization, and capacity planning
- Background in software development (Python/Go)
- Expertise in multi-region fault-tolerant GCP architectures
