Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg Location: Hazelwood, Missouri Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Duration: Ongoing Employment Type: Staff Additional Information About the Role Location: Siteman Cancer Center – North St. Louis County Days: Monday – Friday; No Weekends, Holidays, or Call. Shift: 8‑hour shifts (available 7:30am – 5pm). Floats between Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Peters, South County & West County. Minimum of 2 years RN experience in Oncology or a critical‑care area. Responsibilities Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing care standards. Promotes patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and families on illness management, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team members, patients, families, and caregivers. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs per standards of care. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
