Staff Accountant – Property Management

Verona, NJ | Full-Time

We are partnering with a growing property management organization in the Verona, NJ area seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and supporting a variety of accounting and financial reporting functions.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly general ledger close process, including preparation of journal entries
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations
• Support internal and external financial reporting
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc accounting tasks
• Provide general support to the Accounting Department
• Contribute to process improvements and support overall company goals

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance highly preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and QuickBooks
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Hands-on, team-oriented approach
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of company financial information
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work additional hours during peak periods when needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in property management and/or residential construction environments preferred
