Position Overview The Security Officer plays a key role in maintaining a safe healthcare environment. Customer service is a part of their job description; they greet visitors and handle confrontations, provide issue management and support. The variety of security and safety related tasks encompass safeguarding employees, patients, visitors, providers and property, responding to alarms, emergency requests, de-escalation tactics, and resolving safety incidents. At times, Security Officers manage agitated or aggressive patients or visitors. Primary Department, Division, or Unit Security Services, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Primary Work Shift Day Rotational Compensation Range $18.56 - $26.92 per hour, depending on experience Benefits Eligibility You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours. NOTE Full-time, 0.9 Day Rotation available. 12 hour shifts. Education/Experience Minimum Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. OR Will accept 3 years of Security Officer experience in lieu of education requirement. Preferred: One year experience in a Security related field. License/Certification Minimum Required: Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record if candidate will be driving a vehicle while working, or if not, must have a valid NYS ID Card. Must meet requirements of New York State Security Guard Licensing program and successfully pass within 3 months of hire. CPR/Basic First Aid Certification.
